Dog Waiting to PlayTo work harder you need to keep your perspective and, to keep your perspective, you need to take time for yourself. Whether it’s commuting or an hour at the gym, find and take the time to relax and have some fun.

Consider the following:

  • Tight deadline, go for a walk.
  • Knotty problem, take a nap.
  • Stress-filled argument, play with a dog.
  • Losing your perspective, talk to a teen, or a senior.
  • Writing an angry response, sleep on it.
  • Busy beyond belief day ahead, ride a bike.

Find time for you. Your time will be both more efficient and more enjoyable. You will be better balanced and happier as a result.

Passive Aggresive BehaviorWe hear a lot about passive aggressive behavior. But what’s the opposite? If we don’t want to be passive aggressive, what behavior do we want to demonstrate?

We are coordinating a website build with, as often happens, multiple players. It’s a great team that is functioning quite smoothly except for a somewhat recalcitrant client. On a recent call a team member from the company that built the database provided some insight into managing this client. He told us that, in his experience, you need to help them along if you want things to get done and more importantly get done correctly. (...)
